Who we are

Mission Statement

At Making Stitches, our mission is to nurture a love of sewing and fiber arts by providing expert sewing machine service, hands-on learning, and meaningful, handmade creations. We believe in honoring the past, inspiring creativity, and building a supportive, inclusive community for makers of all skill levels.

About Making Stitches

Making Stitches began with a lifelong love of thread, fabric, and the joy that comes from creating something by hand. From my earliest memories of cross-stitching with my mother to exploring crafts like knitting, crochet, tatting, and hardanger embroidery on my own, needle and thread have always been part of my story.

Today, Making Stitches offers sewing machine service and repair, sewing classes, and custom memory quilts crafted from treasured clothing—whether it's a collection of well-loved t-shirts, a child’s outgrown outfits, or garments that carry special memories. Each quilt is a way to preserve stories, celebrate milestones, and give new life to the fabrics that matter most.

Looking ahead, I dream of expanding Making Stitches into a welcoming hub for fiber artists—a place where people can gather to sew, learn, and share. I envision a vibrant studio stocked with fabrics and quilting supplies, with open tables and warm conversations, where anyone can borrow a machine or attend a class and feel at home.

Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill, repair a trusted sewing machine, or turn cherished clothing into a quilted keepsake, I’m here to help you make something meaningful—one stitch at a time.
